Last week saw our site teams take part in Construction Safety Week 2021. The aim of this week was to take part in a series of toolbox talks, activities and tasks that encourage our teams to think beyond the industry standard of PPE and policies, to take a holistic approach to total well-being. It was a fun and engaging week for all involved! Below are a few of our highlights:

Warm up to Safety

This task involved a 5-minute stretch and flex to be completed before each day. It is aimed at getting the body moving and stretching muscles used by machine drivers and construction workers on a daily basis. It certainly put a smile on everyone’s faces too!

Be Present, Be Focussed

This toolbox talk discussed distractions in the workplace and what can be done to minimise and avoid these. We encouraged our teams to have an open and honest discussion about total well-being and what distractions they may be experiencing from home that may cause them to not be totally focussed. It was beneficial for all involved and we hope they will continue to implement items discussed.

All in all it was a great week and we look forward to the event next year where hopefully it will be even bigger and better. A massive thank you to our site managers who have taken the time out of their days to participate in the event and deliver the material in an engaging manner. If you would like to take a look at the materials then head over to the Construction Safety Week website and see how your team could be involved for next year.
